Things to Remember when Buying Takeaway Insurance

In today’s litigious society, it is important to protect yourself, your assets and business with insurance. Takeaway insurance is a necessary expense, particularly when you own a restaurant, fast food place or other food establishment, especially when it comes to food that people can take with them out of the place or even have delivered to their home.

Definition

Takeaway insurance is a type of insurance policy for business owners who own a takeaway business. What this means is if you own an establishment that sells food which can be taken off the premises to be consumed, you need this type of insurance protection.

Choosing the Insurance

There is no one-size fits all type of takeaway insurance, therefore you have to be thorough when reviewing quotes for the coverage. Not all policies cover the same thing. You want an all-encompassing insurance policy for your takeaway business which covers many aspects such as liability insurance, insurance on the contents of your establishment, and insurance for goods portability and transportation.

In addition, you want your insurance to cover all the equipment from deep fryers and microwaves to deep freezers and stoves. Other appliances, fixtures, and equipment such as cash registers and computers should also be covered. The takeaway insurance should include protection against fire, flooding, theft, vandalism and other acts that can cause damage. Anything that can cause interruption of business resulting in loss of income should be covered in the insurance policy. Employer and public liability should also be considered and added to any policy.

You want the knowledge that you are safely covered and protected in the event that something beyond your control affects your business, whether it is some type of theft or damage or even if food is lost in transit. Customer or employee injury while on the premises of your takeaway business should be an essential part of insurance coverage. You might want to consider adding a few options to your insurance such as legal expenses, insurance on vehicles that provide transportation of your food products and coverage in case someone becomes ill from eating your food.

Where to Purchase Takeaway Insurance

You need to look for an insurance company in your area that caters to local small business insurance. Consider looking to your local Better Business Bureau or Chamber of Commerce for safe and reliable recommendations. For both of these resources, you can feel secure in the knowledge that you are getting well-researched insurance company leads that have earned excellent reputations for their services in your area.

The internet also holds a wealth of information in regards to takeaway insurance for your food business. The best part is you can often compare several different policies, all on one page, based on your search parameters. You can even purchase a policy online so you can get coverage quickly. Just remember to get several insurance quotes from brokers and research the companies that would underwrite the policy. You want a company that has an excellent customer service reputation as well as one that does not have any hidden caveats you may not find out about until you need to file a claim.

cheap stand mixers

cheap stand mixers
Is a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer worth the money?

I’m trying to decide if I can part with $200 to $300 to buy a stand mixer, I love to bake and cook and actually have a birthday party coming up where I’m making tons of cupcakes but it still seems like a lot to spend. Anyone have any opinions on this? Is there another mixer that’s cheaper and just as good or is Kitchen Aid the way to go?

I have a Kitchen Aid, and I love it..but, I did not pay THAT much for it !!!
Shop around, sweetie. Don’t buy the first one you look at.

GOOD LUCK!!
