All-Clad or Restaurant Supply Store?

I need new cookware and I don’t know if I should purchase high quality All-Clad cook ware or hit up a local restaurant supply store restaurant quality cookware. Does the brand really make a difference?

I am a former chef and most of my set is from a restaurant supply store, I like the heavy cast aluminium style, and a the non stick I have are restaurant quality, they also have rubber protector on the handles, store bought are fine, but I have mostly heavy duty ones, you can get a lighter duty one, I like them because I worked with them and know the heat distribution qualities, and are in some way a bit more durable.

Best thing to do is figure out what you want, and go and price the pots and pans at the restaurant supply place, I would look at 4 pots, 1, 2, 4 and 6 qt saucepans, a rondue which is a braising pot that has 2 handles and can be used as a dutch oven, I have a 6 qt, now pans, I have a 6″, 10″ and 14″ regular and an 8″ non stick (it is for eggs and omelette’s only), this is a good base set and then add to it as you feel.

I also have a french “Le Creuset” dutch oven which is enamelled cast iron, but it is a future investment, the RSS places whole deal will cost you for light duty around $200, for heavy duty maybe $250-300, alot depends on the store, this time of year they have sales, so check around even call them to se what they have and prices before venturing to there store for nothing, and compare this to a All-Clad set, make sure the pots have lids they are not expensive but some are sold with out and some are interchangeable

HEY ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW ABOUT BAKING PANS?

This question is for an experienced chef. Or someone who knows about cookware. Or even anyone who watches food network. My sister is looking for a baking grid/rack for her baking pan. She says all the cooks use it on the food network. She says it sits down in the baking pan, which by the way is very shallow, and has a small lip all around. it’s not a cooling rack. Ive looked all over for her..Google, food network, and ebay but nobody knows what it is. Does anyone know the exact name for it?? And where I can find it?

Try googling “roasting rack”.

There seems to be quite a lot of roasting racks that you can place inside a roasting pan, used to put a piece of meat on top so that the meat is lifted off the pan.

Home Accessories That are a Must for Every Home

You’ve just moved into your first apartment or house. It may be old or new, in the city or in the country, compact or spacious; you’ll feel the need to make the new space personal and home-like. Home accessories help you to decorate your home and transform it from a dull and boring space to one that’s chic and dazzling.

Accessories help to add vibrancy, style and glamour to your home. They make your home look beautiful, synchronised and personalised. If you do not have time, energy or the funds for renovation, simple home décor ideas can make your home appear warm and inviting. Some popular ideas are use of wall papers, exhibiting show pieces, display of pictures, photographs and paintings, lighting, flowers and fountains etc.

You can find a lot of innovative and interesting home improvement ideas in home décor magazines and over the Internet. A lot of home shows are also organised that provide unique home decorating ideas.

Home shows are very useful not just for the consumers but also the exhibitors. They provide exhibitors an opportunity to meet prospective clients, make connections and build relationships. Studies show that a lot of people who visit home or interior shows also buy products from the exhibition. Thus, these trade shows also help exhibitors to generate sales and capture the interest of their target consumers.

The Ideal Home Show in Dublin, Ireland has been providing innovative and inspirational ideas for home interior decorating. This show is reputed to be officially Ireland’s biggest, best attended and most successful exhibition for homeowners. 100 years have passed since the first exhibition and the event is now the largest Home Show in the world.

The 2007 show in Dublin was attended by 40,000 visitors, the largest gathering of home and interior consumers under one roof. Of these visitors, 94% rated their visit as worthwhile or extremely worthwhile, 84% said that they would return in 2008 and 72% said that they would also purchase a product as a result of their visit.

The event’s Home Accessory Centre provides a unique opportunity to exhibitors to showcase their products through interactive demonstrations. Visitors find such demonstrations interesting and flock up in large numbers to attend them. The Centre includes a carefully selected range of wares including kitchen utensils, crockery and cookware, appliances, cleaning products, labour saving devices, pictures, paintings and photographs, crafts and gifts.

magic bullet food processor juicer

Do you have any experience using the bullet express product?

Here is the website of the product:

http://www.bulletexpress.com/

Have you use the magic bullet? What did you like or dislike about it?

I am trying to get a good food processor and juicer.

Which would you recommend?

Ive had both and prefer the food processor. I guess it all depends on quantities u want to make. I just feel a food processor is more durable and the warranty covers a lot more than what the magic bullet does.

deep fryer desserts

deep fryer desserts
What should I make for Easter side dish/Appetizer that’s easy and inexpensive?

With no meat except maybe chicken. Here are the other things that are being served:

1. German dinner Strudel, that has rolled dough, potatoes and ham (Very filling)
2. A ham
3. Spinach dip with crackers and veggies
4. Dessert

I want something cheap to make, easy, not too many dishes, but delicious. I don’t have a deep fryer. There are 9 people total. Thanks =)

Go get yourself a few rolls of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Unroll them into one long rectangle. Mix together one pkg. of brick cream cheese softened and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese. Spread that on half of the rectangle. Add some cut up red and yellow peppers, fold the rectangle over so you have like one big log then cut into little squares. Sprinkle the tops with parmesan cheese and bake for 20 mins at 350. SO DELICIOUS!!!!
